I was asked to create an illustration to accompany a poem being published in a Professional Journal for Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapists who care for children with Down syndrome. The Journal is a comprehensive study guiding therapists to a common approach on how to care for the needs and wants of parents, as they often feel unequipped for their journey.
The poem, written by the father
Upon completion of the logo design for Iron River Ranch, they had requested an illustration that depicted the rugged nature of ranch life and "cowboy living" in a style that romanticized the way of life ... "almost like a movie poster."
My first car was a Mustang. I've watched how the car has changed over the years, but still love the earlier models. I've been working on this illustration, honing my skills in creating realistic imagery with vector art. The chrome was particularly challenging, but through passion and persistence I now have my own special method to create realistic chrome in vector art.
Over the years, I've been commissioned to do charcoal renderings of "man's best friend". I've always enjoyed doing this work and I love the expression on the pet owners face when they see the rendering for the first time.
